My Green Card PhotoPrivacy Policy
In short: your photos and face measurements stay on your phone. No account needed. No ads, no tracking. The only photo we ever receive is one you choose to send for expert review, and it is deleted 7 days after the answer.
Who we are
This policy covers the "My Green Card Photo" app for iOS and Android, made by Abdurahman Jarullayev, an individual developer in the United States ("we", "us").
The app is not affiliated with the U.S. government. Entering the DV lottery is done only at dvprogram.state.gov.
Photos and face analysis
- Camera. The app uses the camera only to take the photo and check the framing live. No video is recorded.
- Face analysis. To check whether a photo meets the DV photo rules, the app measures the face on the device: for example head size, eye level, head tilt, open eyes and glasses. These measurements are used only at that moment. They are not stored, not sent anywhere, and never used to identify you.
- Finished photos are stored only on your phone, in the app's own storage. You can delete them in the app at any time, and deleting the app deletes them.
- Gallery. When you choose a photo from your gallery, the phone's own picker opens and the app receives only the one photo you pick.
- Saving. When you tap "Şəkli yüklə" (Save photo), the photo is added to your phone's Photos. The phone asks for permission once.
Expert review (optional)
Only if you choose "Expert review" and tap "Send":
- that one photo is uploaded to our secure cloud storage and is seen only by the person reviewing it;
- no name, email or phone number is sent with it, only a random request number;
- to confirm the payment, the purchase's random number is sent and not kept;
- your device's notification token may be used to tell you when the answer is ready;
- the photo is used only for this review and is deleted 7 days after the answer (at most 30 days if it is not answered). Email us if you want it deleted sooner.
Purchases
Payments are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to verify and restore purchases: it receives a random user number and the purchase details (product, date, price, country), but not your name or email.
First free photo (Android)
On Android, deleting the app deletes all of its data. To give the first free photo once per phone, the app turns the phone's app-specific ID into a one-way code (a hash) and sends it to our server. The code is not linked to your name, an account or other apps, is used only for this, and nothing else is stored with it. On iPhone this stays on the phone itself (Keychain).
Anonymous usage statistics
To improve the app we use anonymous counters (TelemetryDeck): which screens are opened, which photo-check warnings appear most, the app version, device model, operating system version and approximate country. Each installation gets a random number. No photos, face measurements, typed text or anything that identifies you is sent. This data is not linked to you and is not used for advertising or tracking.
Notifications
When «Lotereya bildirişləri» (lottery notifications) is on in the menu, we notify you when DV registration opens, shortly before it closes, and when results are announced. We use Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging for this: your phone gets a random notification token and is subscribed to a general news list. The token is not linked to your name, email or an account, and is used only to send notifications. If you order an expert review, you are notified when the answer is ready regardless of this setting. You can turn notifications off at any time in the menu or in your phone's settings.
What we don't do
- No accounts and no sign-up.
- No ads, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- We don't sell or share your data, except with the service providers named above.
- We don't use face data for recognition, advertising or profiling.
Children
Parents may use the app to take a DV photo of their child. These photos also stay on the phone. The app does not collect personal information from children.
Your rights
You can delete everything stored on your phone by deleting the app. To have an expert-review photo deleted, or for any question about data we hold, email us. We reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have additional rights to access or delete your data; we honor these requests.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page with a new date.
