My Green Card PhotoTerms of Use
In short: the app helps you take and check a DV photo against the official rules, but it cannot guarantee the photo will be accepted — the U.S. Department of State makes the final decision. Your first finished photo is free. Payments are handled by Apple or Google, and nothing renews automatically.
Who and what
"My Green Card Photo" (the "app") is made for iOS and Android by Abdurahman Jarullayev, an individual developer in the United States. By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
The app is not affiliated with the U.S. government. Entering the DV lottery is done only at dvprogram.state.gov. We do not register you or submit anything on your behalf.
What the app does, and what it does not guarantee
- The app guides you while taking the photo, checks it on your phone against the photo rules published by the U.S. Department of State, and produces a 600 × 600 pixel JPEG file.
- The check is automatic and measures part of the rules (head size, eye level, background, lighting, glasses and more). It can be wrong, and it does not cover every rule.
- We do not guarantee that your photo will be accepted for the DV program. Check the official rules yourself before submitting. We are not responsible for a rejected photo or entry.
Prices and payments
- Your first finished photo is free. Taking, checking and retaking photos is always free.
- To save further photos:
- "This photo only" — a one-time payment for one photo;
- "12-month pass" — unlimited photos for 12 months from purchase. It does not renew automatically: nothing is charged when the 12 months end.
- "Expert review" (optional) — a person checks your photo against the rules. This is advice too, not a guarantee of acceptance.
- Prices are shown in the app in your currency before you buy and may differ by country.
- Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, whose terms also apply. We never see your card details.
- You can restore purchases on another phone, or after reinstalling, with the same Apple ID or Google account using "Alışları bərpa et" (Restore purchases).
Refunds
Refunds are handled by the store: reportaproblem.apple.com for App Store purchases, and Google Play's refund policy for Google Play purchases. If something went wrong, email us as well and we will try to help.
Your photos
The photos you take are yours. They stay on your phone; our Privacy Policy explains how we handle a photo you send for expert review. Only photograph another person with their consent (or a parent's, for a child).
Acceptable use
Use the app lawfully and for personal purposes. Do not modify, reverse-engineer or resell the app, or try to get around its payments.
Limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from its use, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for the app in the previous 12 months. Some countries do not allow these limits, in which case they do not apply to you.
Apple
If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app.
Changes and governing law
If these terms change, we will post the new version on this page with a new date. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without taking away any rights the laws of your own country give you.
